Investigating mechanisms of heterochromatin spreading and memory in single cells

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and moved to New York and then finally here in San Francisco! I graduated from Stony Brook University working with Dr. Neta Dean studying CRISPR in Candida albicans. Currently in the Al-Sady lab, I am investigating factors that are involved in heterochromatin spreading and maintenance, as well as probing the memory of cell identity conferred by heterochromatin. Outside the lab, I am learning how to play the ukulele, brewing my own Kombucha, and trying to pay the minimal amount of money to see maximal number of musicals.
